ABOUT ME

Of course I have a professional side to me as I do a personal side. But the core of who I am runs parallel. I think of myself as “what you see is what you get.” Most people describe me as down-to-earth, honest, and easy to talk to. Being “real” is one of the most common characteristics that my clients express.

My educational and employment background: I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland University College, College Park, MD. After numerous years of attending undergraduate studies on a part-time basis, I changed gears and went to grad school full-time. I earned my graduate degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland, School of Social Work in Baltimore, MD.

My first internship was working with people living with epilepsy and my second was working with people living with AIDS. I worked with people living with schizophrenia during my first couple of years in this field. Afterwards, I spent the next several years working in a psychiatric hospital in Rockville. For the next 7 years, until February 2008, I worked as a therapist for a group of psychiatrist in Greenbelt. Since then, I have been in private practice.
